Wool Festival
As part of the cultural offering during the championship, participants will have the unique opportunity to experience the WOOL - Urban Art Festival, one of Covilhã’s most distinctive cultural events. This festival celebrates urban art and creativity, bringing together both national and international artists to transform the city’s walls into powerful visual stories. Participants will be able to explore the open-air gallery that the festival has created over the years.
Covilhã Museum of Art And Culture
Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Covilhã Museum of Art and Culture, one of the city’s most important cultural spaces. Located in a beautifully restored historic building, this museum showcases a diverse collection that spans contemporary art, regional heritage, and cultural history.
Wool Museum
Participants will also be invited to visit the Wool Museum, a landmark institution that tells the story of Covilhã’s strong connection to the wool and textile industry, a key pillar of the city’s identity.
Located within the historic buildings of the University of Beira Interior, the museum offers a journey through time, showcasing traditional machinery, manufacturing processes, and the social and economic impact of the wool trade on the region.
Serra da Estrela
Participants will also have the chance to discover ont of Portugal’s natural treasures - the Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in mainland Portugal and a symbol of the region. Spotted only a short distance from Covilhã, this stunning natural landscape offers breathtaking views, unique geological formations, and a rich biodiversity. Whether through an organized visit or personal exploration, participants can enjoy this place using the Covilhã’s Serra da Estrela Shuttle Bus, available to all participants free of charge.
Covilhã’s Beach-Style Pool
Participants will have free access to Covilhã’s beach-style pool, one of the city’s most popular summer spots. This large outdoor swimming pool, designed to resemble a beach, offers an ideal setting to relax, cool off, and enjoy the warm weather in a fun and friendly environment.
