Technical Visit EUC Handball Covilha 2025

On 13th and 14th November, Covilhã hosted a technical visit as part of the preparations for the 2025 European University Handball Championship. The event will take place in Covilhã from the 22nd to the 28th of July.

The visit was led by the Organising Committee of the event and was attended by representatives of Covilhã City Council (CMC), the University of Beira Interior (UBI) and its Social Action Services (SASUBI), the Academic Federation of University Sports (FADU), the Portuguese Handball Federation (FPA), the Academic Association of the University of Beira Interior (AAUBI), the Castelo Branco Handball Association (AACB) and the European University Sports Association (EUSA).

During two days, several hotel units were visited, among the SASUBI University Residences, the UBI Sports Pavilions (Pavilions 1 and 2), the INATEL Pavilion and other support structures associated with the event.

During the visit, several meetings were held between the partners involved. The aim of these meetings was to discuss the fundamental technical and logistical issues involved in the organisation of the championship and to ensure that the event is held to high quality standards. With this initiative, another important step has been taken in the preparation of the first international university sports event in Covilhã in the last 25 years.

In order to ensure the success of the 2025 European University Handball Championship, the Organising Committee will continue to work closely with all the entities involved.
