Volunteers Strengthen Team Spirit Ahead of EUC Handball 2025

Last Saturday, June 14th, the volunteers of the European University Championship in Handball took part in a team building day in Verdelhos, organized to mark the official conclusion of the Volunteer Training Plan.
The main goal of this initiative was to strengthen team bonds, consolidate knowledge, and offer a relaxed and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.
The group gathered at 9:30 a.m. at the Covilhã Bus Terminal and then headed to the village of Verdelhos, where the day’s activities took place. Upon arrival, the participants were welcomed with a coffee break and, shortly after, took part in an engaging and hands-on workshop on how to bake traditional bread, an experience that blended teamwork with a celebration of local heritage.
Lunch provided another moment of sharing and relaxation, getting everyone ready for the afternoon training session on “Stress Management and Critical Situations,” an essential topic in preparing volunteers to face the challenges of the upcoming event.
The day continued with a fun and interactive team building activity, which further reinforced the spirit of cooperation, mutual support, and camaraderie within the group.
The day ended with an informal social gathering, filled with laughter, stories, and a growing sense of unity among the team.
This day of training and bonding proved to be crucial in building a strong and cohesive team spirit, preparing the volunteers for the vital role they will play in making this major European event a success.
With the dedication, support, and enthusiasm of each volunteer, Covilhã is ready to welcome athletes, coaches, and visitors from across Europe in an atmosphere of excellence, hospitality, and fair play. EUC Handball 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience, for participants, organizers, and the entire community alike.
